About the event
Are you ready to create new healthy habits and live your life from a place of balance?
Yoga for Digestive Health ~ Karan Walsh, Yoga Therapist.
“Quite often life’s challenges can upset our body systems, which can play havoc on our digestion. If this goes unaddressed we can often find ourselves in a repeating cycle of disharmony. According to Ayurveda, we can live our lives from a place of balance, given a daily cycle of when best to eat, to sleep, be active - and by making some healthy lifestyle choices to keep our digestive health in harmony."
Understanding Your Gut ~ Karen Wilson, The Whole Food Chef.
"Bacteria and other microbes (including fungi and viruses) are often thought of as sources of disease, but in fact many play an essential role in keeping you healthy. Your body contains trillions of microbes, most of which are beneficial. The most dense microbe population is in your gut, where they play a critical role in digestion, immune function and weight regulation. What you eat can quickly change your microbes, but are you eating the right foods to help your good gut bacteria?"
About the day
You will learn a sequence of specific yoga postures for good digestive health. The day will be practical and informative, including an introduction to Ayurveda. Learn about Ama (toxins) and Agni (digestive fire) and how to keep them in balance. You will also discover how breath, movement and relaxation techniques help to clear and rebalance your body.
We will delve into the nutritional values of foods, looking at the choices we make and how this serves our 'friendly bacteria'. The day includes a cookery demonstration and a delicious whole food lunch. Our aim is to help you make healthier lifestyle choices.
